Just a few days left before WoW Forever is upon us. I’ve detailed my thoughts about the new talents and stuff for (holy) paladins on YouTube, and I’ll embed it at the bottom of this post. That said, here’s what I’m thinking about for a levelling build for my hunter, followed by a theoretical end-game build for my hunter, then both levelling and end-game builds for my paladin.
Kurn’s Levelling Hunter Build
Here’s the build. In it, I sacrifice a tiny bit of range from Marks and go hard (for me) into the Beast Mastery tree. I hate putting points into my pet (although I love all my pets, from my original Whisper (whom I’ve still got!) to my current favourite, Fluffy the turtle). Here, I have Deadly Aspects and Endurance Training (always helpful while levelling), with Focused Fire and Improve Revive Pet. I pick up two points in Unleashed Fury and then go for two points in Improved Mend Pet. Now, I really only start putting points into BM around level 40ish, but that’s okay, because it’s really at that point (at least, historically) that mobs really start to give me trouble. I do also end up taking Lone Wolf so that my pet doesn’t cause issues in dungeons.
Kurn’s Potential Hunter End-game Build
Here’s the end-game build. Now, bear in mind that I have no idea what end-game looks like. So I’ve moved most things away from BM (keeping Deadly Aspects for the equivalent of Improved Aspect of the Hawk) and I’ve moved heavily into Survival. The reason I’ve done that is expressly for the 3% hit in Surefooted. Okay, and maybe Clever Traps too. I do love trapping. So this build presumes I do not have a pet out and it further presumes that my CC will be needed, but that I also need whatever the hit % is to not miss bosses. (I’m thinking that’s 8-9% but I guess we’ll find out if someone hasn’t already figured that out.) Hit is the best stat when fighting bosses. Period. I had a hit set for Magmadar to ensure my tranq shot never missed, but I took off half my hit stuff after that fight. You want to be capped for hit for whatever level thing you’re fighting at any time as you approach and then hit 60. Raid bosses are considered to be level 63, IIRC, but again, this is something we’ll have to see when we actually get to 60.
Kurn’s Levelling Holy Paladin Build
Here you go. Now this is heavy on the holy. I’m planning to level holy as a human paladin wielding some kind of giant 2H sword, mace, whatever. In this build, I lower the cost of Consecration, Exorcism, Holy Wrath and Hammer of Wrath, I add damage to Consecration, I add hit to my Holy spells, and I snag appropriate talents in Prot and Ret. I could probably tweak this a bit more by taking 5/5 Divine Strength, or Improved Seals, but I didn’t have much issue levelling to 30 on beta. I killed things at an appropriate rate, I thought. It wasn’t hard, not with a massive 2H.
Kurn’s Potential End-game Holy Paladin Build
Here you go. It’s almost the same, except I drop the damage talents from Holy and move to Ret and grab Improved Judgements (meh) in order to get Pursuit of Justice (yay for speccing for running faster! hahaha). This is subject to change, but because I do plan on doing a fair amount of healing in my levelling, I’m not inclined to do much changing things around.
All righty, that’s about it for now. Check out my video below, don’t forget to like and subscribe, and I’ll catch you next time!
